Team PACN is at the Capitol today in blue shirts to #Stand4Life in Austin! Our Executive Director Cindy Sunday Powell and Center Directors Teri McGiffert and Karen Gould, along with volunteer Nicole, are speaking up for pre-born babies.
The Texas Senate today takes up a bill that would require doctors performing abortions to have admitting privileges at nearby hospitals, allow abortions only in surgical centers, limit where and women may take abortion-inducing pills and ban abortions after 20 weeks. These restrictions would help provide better care for Texas women and babies. If this bill passes in the Senate and is signed by Governor Perry, it will become Texas law.
Concerned Women For America LAC‘s Penny Nance writes:
“Not only Texas, but the entire country overwhelmingly supports more protective restrictions at the federal and state levels. In the midst of the Gosnell trial, Gallup found that only 26 percent of Americans want legal abortions in any circumstance, while a January 2013 Gallup poll found 80 percent of Americans want abortion outlawed in the third trimester, and 64 percent think it should be outlawed in the second trimester.”
PACN believes women and men deserve access to unbiased, client-centered care that is relevant, compassionate and accurate, particularly when facing an unplanned pregnancy or sexual health concern. Want to learn how you can join us? Click here to find out.
