Countless people volunteer at PACN because they too, have ‘walked a mile’ in our clients’ shoes. The following is an interview with Kim, a PACN nurse, who cares for clients by performing ultrasounds, STD testing and assisting with well-woman exams.

WHY DO YOU VOLUNTEER AT PACN?

“Because I was a 16 year-old mom.  I didn’t get much sound advice.  I see this place as a valuable outreach to pregnant moms.  It means a lot for me to be here and help these young women make informed decisions.”

HOW DOES PACN HELP OUR COMMUNITY?

“PACN provides decision-making tools for pregnant moms.  It provides a support system including, counseling, material goods, sound information, prayer and love in difficult situations.”

WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT WAY THAT WE HELP OUR CLIENTS?

“By educating them.  One of the tools we use is the ultrasound machine.  It shows the Life growing inside them.”

WHAT DO YOU RECEIVE FROM VOLUNTEERING?

“An opportunity to share my testimony, show moms their babies’ heartbeats, opportunities to pray with clients.  I get blessed with wonderful opportunities to affirm people’s lives every time I’m here.”

TELL US ONE OF THE SPECIAL MOMENTS YOU RECALL.

“I did an ultrasound on a young lady whose pregnancy was the result of a rape.  She saw her baby and was very excited.  She has chosen Life for her child.  I think it was one of the bravest things I’ve seen here.”

DO YOU HAVE ANYTHING ELSE YOU WOULD LIKE TO ADD?

“Thanks for the opportunity to serve here.  It blesses my heart weekly and gives me a chance to make a difference in my community!!”
